IIMENA Project Half-Annual Meeting

News

Today we had the iimena annual scientific project meeting, again online due to the COVID-19 situation, with all the partners from the IIMENA project funded by a Challenge Grant of the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The meeting allowed the partners to present their latest update on the results from the project as well as the next steps and plans for the future. We hope the next meeting towards the end of the year 2021 will be face-to-face.

Brazilian variant of coronavirus has been found at DTU, Centre for Diagnostics with help of researchers from the IIMENA project

Postdoctoral fellow Tue Sparholt Jørgensen and researcher Kai Blin from DTU Biosustain, Center for Biosustainability, were part of the team who found the Brazilian variant of the coronavirus using the Sanger sequencing protocol which was developed by Tue S. Jørgensen. Read the full article here .

On 25th February 2021 at the Novo Nordisk Foundation, professor Tilmann Weber had a pleasure to give a fantastic talk with title Mining soils for drugs – Microbes as source for novel antibiotics as part of the CPH Bioscience lecture. He presented the newest research result from his group at CFB as well as from the IIMENA project where he has a role of coordinator.
